It was built in Ephesus, which today is in Selçuk, Turkey.
It had to be rebuilt at least 3 times due to fire, flood, and a mob that was determined to destroy it.
Each time it was rebuilt it became larger and even more beautiful and impressive.
The Temple of Artemis is also known as the Temple of Diana.
The Virgin Mary's House
The visit to Virgin Mary's House will take about 1 hour.

The house was discovered in the 19th century when Catherine Emmerich(1775-1824), an invalid German nun, who had never visited Ephesus, described in great detail the house and its situation as she had seen them in a vision.
It is believed that St.John brought Mary (the mother of Jesus) to Ephesus sometime between AD 37-48 and that she spent the last years of her life there.
